Hi, My name is Funmi Johnson
I'm a Nigerian born, finance professional, occasional baker, and conversation starter.
Like every career girl, I appreciate the importance of dedication and hard work. However, there are not enough conversations about opportunity gaps and the limiting ways women are expected to occupy corporate spaces. I believe networking is essential to thriving professionally and exploring new opportunities.
In December 2018, I started Upswing Women as a platform for women professionals and entrepreneurs to make real connections and engage in no-holds-barred conversations and explore growth and opportunities in career and business.
The Upswing Woman
An Upswing Woman is intentional about seeking growth. She is a truth-teller and uplifter. She is not afraid to learn and unlearn or to redefine herself when past constructs no longer serve her growth and purpose. She seeks out fellow warriors and guardians, mentors and teachers.
